Icon Post 11
May. 4th, 2006 11:04 amI was working on some contest entries this afternoon when I realized that I had HOARDS of old icons stored up in my photobucket account. Thus, I have unloaded them - and I warn you, there are many Jane Austen wedding icons.

Credits:
1-6. Icons from the 2005 production of Pride and Prejudice - most specifically, the Netherfield Ball scene.
1. Text from Iron Fist by Aaron Allston.
7. Lizzy/Darcyness from P&P 1995. Actually, this wasn’t an
austen_awards icon, but a random icon inserted in this grouping to make even rows. I can be so OCD sometimes. :p
8. Sense and Sensibility. Entered in the Week 06 challenge at
period_stills. The text, like most of my icons, doesn’t fit at all – I’m ashamed to say that the only reason I used that text was . . . because even when she’s all depressed about Willoughby, Kate Winslet as Marianne still looks perfect.
9-11. Trees! OK, I'm not being that ditzy - it was an
austen_awards challenge, and I very much enjoyed it. (And I know the P&P one looks like crap, but such is life sometimes.)
12. Persuasion. Again, not an
austen_awards entry in any way, just something I made while playing around on Adobe Photoshop. Text is from Chapter 10 of Persuasion.
13-27. Various wedding icons. For the "Weddings" challenge at
austen_awards - you could only enter two icons, so how many did I make? (Actually, more than these; I refuse to post some of the more awful ones.) Rather bright, and some are extraordinarily texty for me. And I have nothing more to say.
28. Mansfield Park. The Crawford siblings. Entered in the "Brother & Sister" challenge at
austen_awards, created by yours truly! (Go check out
slayra's winning entry. It's v. nice.)
29-30. Random Darcy/Georgiana lurve. Because I love that screencap.
31. Entered in the "Architecture" challenge at
austen_awards. Lizzy and Pemberley, which are both great.
The two random Keira Knightley icons were entered in some challenge weeks ago at
austen_awards . . . something to do with the new P&P? I'm brain dead right now, sorry.

1. Little Women. Text is from the corresponding chapter title in the book. Entered in the Week 03 challenge at
period_stills. Tied for third place.
2-3. The Secret Garden.
2. Text from that scene in the movie. Entered in the Week 04 challenge at
period_stills. Won third place.
3. Text from that children’s rhyme about Contrary Mary. As you can see, was nowhere near as good as #2, so it wasn’t entered in the challenge, but instead allowed to fester in my photobucket account. :p
4. Ever After. Entered in the Week 07 challenge at
period_stills.
5-7. Wives and Daughters - random Lady Harrietness. #5 & 6 were entered in Challenge 03 at
mollygibson; #7 was made for my own amusement with text from Bridget Jones’s Diary.
8. Daniel Deronda. Entered in the Week 08 challenge at
period_stills.
9-11. Girl with a Pearl Earring. #9 was entered in the Week 09 challenge at
period_stills.

1, 3, 4. Entered in Challenge 17 at
tardis_icons. #1-3 are from Father's Day (like my previous DW post), if you're really curious.
4. Text from "Digital Man" by Rush.
Basically, this was a hodge-podge of experimentation, because I hadn't uploaded all of my brushes/textures/caps onto my new computer, and I felt like trying new things. Perhaps a little different from my usual style? Dunno. Typing up all the things for the bazillion JA icons has wiped out my reasoning skills.
