Oh, love of mine. This might be my college's fall musical, and I'm crossing my fingers that they pick it. I mean, what's not to like? Fops, big dresses, wigs, and exciting (slightly nonhistorical) plots are nothing short of awesome.
[30] The Scarlet Pimpernel (1934 & 1982 versions + Broadway musical)

--Right, so technically I'm on hiatus, but this post is to celebrate that I attended my LAST CLASS this morning. Bshwee!

1-12. Look, it's Ashley Wilkes. Hee.
17-19. Ian McKellan as Chauvelin = funniest thing ever.
20. I like how that shot captures Percy's pure absurdity at times. And the ruffles - can't forget those.
22. Poor Armand. Look at that unibrow.
23. Tony cracks me up, for some unknown reason.
26, 28. A scarlet pimpernel's a rather weed-like flower, when you look it it. (Surprising that no one's ever adopted a dandelion as their symbol.)
27. Broadway cast from 1999, after Terry Mann left.
And my favourite song from the musical? "The Riddle."
(You should ask about my secret audition plan. It's insane and genius at the same time.)
Comment. Credit. Enjoy!

Date: 2006-05-11 11:48 pm (UTC)I saw the 1982 version on amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00016XNQQ/qid=1147389793/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-3517690-7251301?s=dvd&v=glance&n=130) the other day ... since I've never seen it in stores, I might break down and buy it.
